Active Minds is a public action which methodology heads to achieve synergic effect. The activities are fulfilling many different aims such as education, popularization positive social attitudes and above all the elicitation in the field of the youth volunteer work.
Forming charity attitudes and popularization of volunteer work are the main aims of the action.
The city of Szczecin and the Zachodniopomorskie region has been struggling with the lack of active volunteers for years. The prove for that situations are the messages from many institutions that base their actions on volunteers. Using informal methods, the participants will get familiar with the idea, characterization and the advantages of volunteer work for themselves, institutions and for the whole society.
The project is an
international youth initiative. It involves the work of people from
Szczecin (Poland) and German volunteers working for
Tierzentrum/Uckermark in Flemsdorf (Germany).

The participants of the project will be able to get familiar with the reality of volunteer work in Germany, the practice of the German volunteers, find the problems and obstacles for developing the youth volunteer work in Poland and find the solutions to solve these problems. They will also see the work of the volunteers in the animals shelter in Szczecin, together with their German friend they are going to organize the information action supporting dogs adoption, create a music track with the young Szczecin artists, watch the movies in 'volunteer’s cinema'. The final of the action is going to be making the brochure supporting and popularizing the volunteer work, which is going to be distributed in secondary schools and academies in Szczecin and the region.
