Maria Peszek doesn’t need to be introduced. For several years now she has stood among the most prolific female artists in Poland. Her releases have received along with audience delight outstanding reviews and dozens of prizes.
Maria Peszek made her debut in 2005 and straight on won hearts of the audience with songs like
'Nie mam czasu na seks',
'Mam kota',
'Miły mój' czy
'Pieprzę cię miasto'. As a female vocalist she received several awards - including
Audience Award at
21. Actors Song Review in Wrocław and
Fryderyk for her album
'Miasto mania' in
New Face and Music Production of the Year category.
In 2009 she was awarded with
'Paszport Polityki 2009' mainly for her second album
'Maria Awaria' Kuba Wojewódzki who nominated her to that award said:
Maria Peszek returned bringing us belief in natural erections, author’s composition and unrestrained artists freedom. Her album ‘Awaria’ (i.e. failure) shows at the same time a quality and quantity failure of her female vocalists who cannot cope with their own linguistic clichés, coarseness and literalness. The term scandal or controversy regains its artistic origin and tinge. Smolik’s music just like in Tarantino’s movie, screening ‘Vagina’s Monologues’. Ms Peszek’s the slogan ‘don’t worry it’s only a little failure’ receives double meaning.
